Now that ebay/paypal have introduced their new policy of holding funds until the good has been sent would that mean that dropshipping from china on ebay is impossible now?

Why?

Not everyone is getting funds held.

You're only stuck if you have no working capital.

paypal only keep your funds until the buyer leaves feedback and that only acurs when you yourself have less than 20 feedback

dropshipping is still possible but it is best you have some capital, so if paypal does hold your funds then you still can process the order.

Agreed with all of the above. Providing you plan for this, by having enough capital at the beginning to pay the dropshippers rather than waiting for the 21 day hold, you should be OK.

It is possible.
Just have an 'ebay contingency plan'
Have a 'pot' of money (capital) sitting in your paypal account, in case funds are held.
Shouldnt be too much of an issue, and in no time you'll have your 20 feedback.
Just dont be silly and list THOUSANDS of products with big value - if payment is held, you need to pay for this out of your capital until funds are released - if you dont, expect to do some explaining, or face negative feedback.
Start slow, and you shouldnt have any hiccups.

Just plan your cash flow and start small to avoid any surprises.
