You need to deal with the manufacturer of the product, or an authorized distributor, otherwise your dealing with a middleman(reseller).

The problem with dropshipping I find is that you are never going to get wholesale prices becuase your only gettin one unit. Maybe make a few quid on the item but very hard I find to sell enough of those items at the prices you get them for,, for much if any profit. This is based on the eBay market.

Although I must blow my own supplying trupet here and say that I have a customer who is dropshipping PS3 from me and he is making between £50-£90 on each one. Not a bad profit considering all he does is list and then PM me.

You know who you are

Your welcome, don't just think within the standard dropshipping box tho.....

I have a wholesaler who I buy from in bulk at good prices who will then hold onto the stock for me and for a small fee ship it out to my customers when I email the details over (ie. dropship it).

The benefits of this arrangement are that I can trial new lines pretty effectively whilst maintaining my margins with no increase in my storage costs/needs, this arrangement came about because I have used this wholesaler for a number of years and have pushed a lot of business his way (the current owners of my old card shop businesses still use him)..

There are many arguments for and against dropshipping but like any supply channel if utilised properly then there are some good margins to be made, thinking singularly about electronics/phones and dare I say iPods really is narrow business minded.

Have just finished reading this interesting post. Also, have just finished sending off my list of questions (based upon your 'guide') to a potential supplier (wholesaler) who is offering a dropshipping service. Will wait and see what he says. Thanks.
