what program do u use to desgin the banners as i have been tryin to do this myself. could u help me out with any tips?

Adobe Imageready would be the best program to use.

To be honest, programs are a matter of preferance. I myself use Adobe Photoshop which is probably the most popular but there are hundreds of programs out there that you can use for this sort of graphical work.

As far as tips are concerned, just play about with the different tools. Also you can check out www.good-tutorials.com they offer some lessons on how to make some rather professional looking graphics, just doing this tutorials will eventually help you to become more aquainted with the program, once you have built up you confidence you should be able to create you own stuff fairly easily.

I was talking about animating them, for actual graphics I use Adobe Photoshop!

Hi YWNA,

I use Fireworks for putting the banner together with frames and Photoshop for putting images together to use within Fireworks.
If you can source the images, as you want to use them then you only need Fireworks.

As for tips, people have different opinions as to what looks good, but it has to be eye-catching, but at the same time optimised to keep the image size down.

Don't be afraid to use a specific call to action like Click here for further info or call us now on 0845 092 0143. Treat your audience as though they need to be led. IF you are advertising a particular product or service, ensure that the page the banner is directed to is targeted according to the content of the banner. Also if possible make this page the only step they need to view the information or purchase the product you are selling.
