Hello,

I don't usually use ebay so i could do with some help.I have a winning bidder who wants the item sent to nigeria. This set the alarm bells ringing naturally, but i have recieved a email from paypal saying the money will be paid as soon as i provide a tracking number. The email isn't a fake but i don't really want to send goods without the money first.I was thinking that i might get screwed if i provide a tracking number, the goods are sent and then it turns out they don't have the money. Can't i get the money upfront?

Of course the email is a fake!.

Paypal do not send messages claiming you will be paid if you send it first, complete and utter crap. Different if you were using Escrow but you are not so don't.

DO NOT send it. These sad people are scammers.Report them at once to ebay and don't send.
Never ever follow links from emails you receive, always log into Paypal/Ebay manually.
Be prepared that this transaction ain't ever going to happen and apply to Ebay for recovery of your listing fees.

Okay.I was'nt going to send the items but i just wanted to check. It seems everywhere you turn nowadays there's another scammer lurking.I have someone who will come and collect the goods and pay cash in hand so should be okay.

There certainly needs to be restictions in place concerning these countries with high volumes of scammers. If we stopped sending them second hand computers with credit card details on we might start getting somewhere:eek: .

You can in rare cases get the feedback removed by ebay. It actually happend with me, I was in the forums and upset someone. Yes I was there under my selling i.d, but he said on the boards he was going to leave me a neg and laughed. He did, I reported him to ebay, it was removed and he was banned for life.

So if you have all the info they could reverse it for you.
