Profit margins and turnover is not completely off topic when the title was "looking for large profit margin product on ebay". I really am interested in what people deem to be acceptable profit margins as its a big part of calculating what products to sell on ebay.

When i sold used football shirts i worked on a profit margin of 50%, but now on my latest golfing venture i am looking more at 5-10% but selling much more of them.

What does everyone else deem to be acceptable profit margins?

We tend to use corregated roll for some of the more fragile items, consoles, etc. but also make use of our couriers bags which are supplied free of charge. Even if posting some items at the post office we will use the couriers bags turned inside out and they make a very professional job of wrapping. A very cost effective tip if you have use of this type of bag :niceone:

our goods comes in boxes so there's no bags to recycle but i do use some of the boxes aswell

it's just makes the job easier with envolopes and label printing rather than wrapping,i guess that's the price if i want to cut costs.

My ebay turnover is in five figures every month and it could easily be ran with just one person and with time to spare. As I said previously, the hard work is in the prep work not the actual running of the business.
