Wink Shipping Advice

HI GUYS

brand new here to what i've found out to be an invaluable resource so far
thanks for the advice , i was thinking of doing dropshipping for dvd's until i came on here
i take it no one wants to deposit a couple of million into my paypal account
(thought i'd ask and cut to the chase rather than go for the questions other have asked recently )

i have presently for sale on ebay a load of christmas lights and would appreciate some advice re shipping them as a job lot if im lucky enough for someone to buy them

i have said on the listing that the cost of shipping would be extra but is there a good company any of you would recommend
i think royal mail would be a fortune as they wanted 8 quid per set

thanks in advance and keep that advice coming for us nungies

For smaller items or items that don't weigh much then you wont get cheaper than Royal Mail. Other companies only come into play when the items are bigger or heavier and will normally charge you more than £8 anyway.

hi cfl
thanks for that
these sets are heavy with the transformer and weigh about 5 kilos each
as i have about 30 sets it would nearly double what i want for them
tough life i know and its not really my problem as the buyer would need to pay but you want to be seen to be keeping delivery prices low

Even at £8, that's probably as cheap as it will get. For an extra £1.50 you can get a courier to come and collect though.

Thumbs up Re postage

Venus, I have had the same problem trying to sell items on ebay that weigh 6Kg although I've managed to sell 115 listings so far.

For individual sets then the post office will be the cheapest at £8.17 standard parcels this includes postage insurance up to £30.
The maximum the post office will take is 4 sets based on your 5 kg weight @ £11.65.

I tend to use Interparcels for weights above 6kg as they are cheaper than the post office and they will collect from your home or office. You also get a 5% discount from them after your first purchase.
They sub contact out to Parcel force.

Why not consider breaking up the 30 into seperate lots and use buy it now. You would probably get more money for them as you will be attracting more people due to the price.

Listing it as a job lot is restricting the type of buyer that your attracting and if you can keep the price under £20 inc the postage I would expect them to sell reasonably quickly.

If there wasn't so many I might of considered some myself.

Jamie
