Thanks! Do Staples still have the same offer on posting? It's just that I went to their website, and I saw nothing about them posting your own items...

Useful points. I never mention delivery, though, only despatch. It's a common misconception on eBay that Sellers are responsible for delivery times. Just look at feedback comments; most people include the word 'delivery', when the Seller is not responsible for the speed of this, unless they are delivering themselves, by hand!

Hi, what a great checklist. Another tool I found (actually it was incorporated in to a system I was suckered in to buying), and I apologies in advance if this was the first thing everyone learnt about eBay, but for those who didn’t; If you don’t have a target price or know how much you can expect a product to sell for on eBay first do an ebay search for similar products to see which category you should list your item in, then choose a couple of popular keywords relevant to your product. Once you’ve found a few identical items go in to the Advanced search option, enter the most relevant search phrase you can identify then tick Completed listing and submit your search. Now hopefully from the results displayed you will be able gauge a target price for your stuff, these will be the prices in green. If for example you wanted to sell an air bed which you searched for comparables on and found 25 out of 50 of the most recently closed listings for your items previously sold for around £30 each but several ended without being sold at 99p, don’t panic because those listings were probable ended early, so you could reasonable assume a good target price would be £30.

So now you have a target price of about £30. A strategy I used was that I listed 9/10 of my items with buy it now prices of £30 for 30 days and 1 of my items in a separate listing as a loss leader with a starting price of 99p for 7 days. Now considering I found comparable items that sold for £30 each I could reasonably have expected my loss leader to sell for around £20 (unless suddenly something catastrophic happened which seriously devalued my product), but because it had a starting price of 99p it appeared right at the top of the searches for the type of product I’m selling when the search is filtered by price, so I included a link in my loss leader listing to my buy it now listing (this is really easy to do…pm me for instructions). Hey presto, mucho exposure, lots of sales with max margin.

Please be constructed when comment on my strategy.

I found the articles very good, I'm starting out to sell some stuff on Ebay
and this gave me a good insight on selling on Ebay.

Thanks a lot.
