Hi,

The price of Wii's on eBay has dropped considerably. Checked today and there going for around £180-£200. I had bought some to sell, but am a bit worried now.

- Should I just sell them ASAP.
-
OR
-
- Wait till nearer to Christmas time.

And why has the price dropped anyway?

Thanks,

mas123

Demand is lower, availability is higher or a combination of both.

We are all in the same boat. .

you can't wait until much nearer christmas now. Auctions finishing Thursday is your last realistic opportunity.

You could consider going for the week between christmas and new year.

The kind of people that are buying online now are mostly "last minute buyers" or what we call non-experienced, non-frequent and even first time online buyers. As we're now 1 week away from Xmas Eve those kinds of people are not gonna buy online for fear of not getting it on time, even if you offer next day delivery or to deliver it yourself personally.

That plus more of the Consoles now being available on eBay are the reasons why prices are slumping.

It also comes down to what you paid for them. If you paid over the standard RRP then I'd get rid of them asap as I can't see Nintendo letting this happen again.

I'm not in the industry but I hear that Nintendo expect to have the supply issues completely sorted by Feb and their won't be a huge demand for them in Jan IMO.

There becoming more available in retail stores due to the bundling offers now going on. A lot of the stores are now selling package deals therefore buying a wii of ebay for 250 is not good value to buyers when they can get a bundle deal for that amount. And of course there are extra supplys now coupled witht he imported EU versions the markets getting flooded. It seems like DS lites are the big christmas present now.

Run a check on eBay - there are 7294 auctions for "Wii" in the "Video Games Consoles" section at the time of this post.

There are over 50 ending in the next 20 minutes.. at a quick glance, roughly half of them are for sale at desperate (£230+) prices. Most of my local stores have had them in stock in the last 24 hours.

You have more chance selling them locally now. Take a few down the pub.

Coloured Nintendo DS - that's where the real coin was this xmas.
