eBid? No one bids!
Hi, I've been studying various ways to start a business and have done some research on dropshipping and will continue to do so. Right now I'm looking for any alternatives to eBay, and I found a site called eBid, but the problem is no one is buying! Anyone have any other sites they know about that are free to list stuff? I need whatever can get me going on basically no budget. It would have to be a site that had a buy now or at least a reserve option. Thanks.

Stick to ebay. May cost a little but the exposure is massive.

Thanks
Ok, thanks, greedyboy. It's been a while since I've dealt with eBay, so I didn't really know whether or not to still use them.
DSC, I think I remember using Amazon Marketplace, but I'm not sure. I remember paying them like $20 back when I was just starting out months ago, trying to sell some watches. It may not have been the same thing though. In the Amazon Marketplace is it possible to have your own products, and not just piggy back on what they are selling?

In the UK marketplace you just sell the items that are already on the site but you only pay fees when you have sold an item and theres no setup/ongoing fees.
Z Shops are where you have to pay a monthly fee etc.

Naturally, in this type of business though, one needs to sell original products. That's why I steered away from Amazon originally. Now I remember wanting to try Zshops, but came across info that led me to believe it was a loosing deal.

Open a Pro Merchant Account on Amazon. you wont get as many sales, but you get much more money for your products and only pay when they are sold. We do pretty well out of Amazon but it depends on what you are selling. Some of the catagories can be worse than ebay!

I found two different web sites:
ebid.com
and
ebid.net.
ebid.com: I checked the whois information and find that just 3000 us visitors visit it per month and average stays for 5 minutes.
But ebid.net: have 69,000 us visitors per month. And average stays for 7.19 minutes.
Ebay: have 79,476,935 visitors and average stays for 17.48 minutes.
I also noticed that ebay going down.
So witch website are you talking about?
Anyway, does somebody using >>ebid.net<<, and selling???

I joined Ebid about 2 years ago and never used it until Yahoo auctions were shut down. I then started up on Ebid and they also imported my Yahoo seller feedback into Ebid. It did take awhile for anyone to bid, but once I received my first Ebid seller feedback it did help. You do not get the hits like Ebay gets you but I am seeing more progress as I get more feedback.
Maybe you could start out with some cheap interesting items that you may only break even at the best, but buyers will begin to trust you through your feedback.
I recently have cleaned out the closet so to speak and sold some of my nascar items, clothes ect and in return of their good feedback, I am now selling higher priced electronics ect. because of my earned trusted status.
