This is my first post, but I have been reading the forum for quite sometime. I thought of asking this important question to our seasoned and veteran traders who were in the same predicament as mine now.
I have been contemplating on starting selling in eBay, hopefully to make it a full time job. I work as a computer/electronics engineer, and a part time property investor/landlord, I guess I just need your views if this can really be done, "give-up my professional career and sell in eBay".
My main reason is to have a more relaxed and controlled life. I get alot of pressure at work, deadlines and stuff, sometimes it gets too much and it affects my family and kids. My target is to get a net income of £2k/month from eBay sales to support the family and pay bills.
Be nice to get some pointers to the people who have actuallly succesfully done it, quit the job, never looked back and just focused on selling in eBay, and did it really improved your life?
I think this is getting too long now, so thanks for your responses.
Don't quit until you know that your going to make money on the product that you sell. Part time property investor/landlord does it pay enough for the first couple of months that if you trade at a lost you can still support the family
Never give up your day job until you have a regular income and a customer base, i still work, i do this in my spare time, i am considering doing this full time but as of yet i still have a lot learn and really do not wont to rush into things until i am a lot more knowledgeable before leaving my current job, i do not plan do this quite soon, maybe next year or so, always keep your options open
Here's a link to a video by a lady who lost her job and is now the leader in her field online. Well worth the 10 minutes to watch it. They are actually selling a course, which I do not support, just suggesting watching the video - not buying the course. And I'm not an affiliate or anything, just ran across it - http://www.stompernet.net/julieswatek.htm
