I've seen a few ebay shops and templates made by frooition and I've been really impressed. I'm thinking of getting them to design a shop for me, even though their fees are astronomical I think I could make it back quickly with the increased business from such a good looking shop.

I'd appreciate any tales of first hand experience before I spend

Not come across them before, but the example designs they give do look good, don't they?
As far as I can see though, there's only screenshots of sites, no links to live stores.

Before agreeing to anything with them it's probably best to contact them and ask for links so that you can make sure that the workings are as good as the appearance.

I have not used them but I think they charge around £800 plus a monthly charge? Personally I believe you should have professionally designed listings but that it a bit OTT.

You'd be best spending the money hosting cubecart and paying a few hundred quid on getting it designed properly. I think that would be better money spent.

Alternatively, spend a few hundred and get a designer to knock up a decent template.

I would take greedyboy's advice and get a designer on board. I thought of using frooition myself as their portfolio is very impressive, but after seeing the prices I don't think any design, no matter how good, is worth the money. Unless of course you have the money to spend, even then however I'm sure you can find something equally as suitable cheaper.

I am in the process of having a logo designed with the aim of using the same designer to custom design a store. The people I am using are called 'professional website services' and their prices are pretty much unbeatable. Below is a link to their ebay store in the US, if you look at some of their store designs, they are quite basic but have all you need, and in my opinion look pretty impressive, especially for the price, just $99.

Hope this helps.

p.s. Im not related to the store in any way, just think their service is a good deal

I am fortunate to have a full time in house designer. All our web, print, packaging, point of sale, corporate ID and photography is done in house. The only thing I contract out is PR, copy writing and larger photography stuff and location based product shots.

I have thought about offering the services here, but quality design does not come cheap unfortunately!

Here is an ebay template we knocked up for customer as a favour for one of their businesses. Not a great example but all I can find at the moment.

My opinion is they are are not designed by a professional designer, just a hobby designer.

I personally wouldn't use them templates but they are cheap(ish) and cheerful.

I know a member of this forum has used them a number of times. I have seen the designs they done him and although costly. They are very very good.

If you can afford it then go for it. Or shop around for a better deal.

I'l leave it up to the forum member I am on about to say they have used it incase he doesnt want the publicity.
