Its impossible for Ebay to cater for everything that people want to sell, am sure they try the best they can and if they could customise each individual sale then the fees would have to be raised which would again cause sellers to complain. Ebay admit that it was never set up for people to run a business it just grew that way. If people need custom shipping, different ways for feedback etc then they have to run their own site.

What about the retaliation sellers......anyone here done that? Buyer paid straight away (didnt move house) then left bad feedback cos of poor service/product etc so seller left bad feedback for no real reason.
Ebay's change of rules recently now prevents this from happening, a good thing, and I personally have neevr retaillated with a neg.

People on ebay who never buy are NOT customers so should not have any right to leave feedback. I'm happy for clients to leave feedback where they have paid, returned the item for credit etc, that is a different matter.

Allowing people to leave negs when they haven't even paid is a charter to ruining sellers reputations, something I hope ebay will change.

If you are happy, fine.

Exactly in a year or so, they are trying to change the business and are learning, mistakes will be made and Ebay has to put up with moaning customers (ie sellers) just like sellers have to put up with moaning buyers.

At the end of the day they cant please everyone, Ebay could take away buyers right to leave feedback, never charge a fee and you would still get people that are not happy.

"Ebay admit that it was never set up for people to run a business it just grew that way."

But what exactly did they do to stop it? They encouraged it because it brought in millions, now its getting to heavy to manage in its present format they seem to be at a loss as to how to deal with it. I have NO sympathy for ebay or paypal........If you build a quagmire you tend to get sucked down into it. Looking at it logically, they are only in this position because there are very few alternatives and those that exist find it difficult to compete with the publics perception of ebay..... The punters are like sheep [no not all] if a celebrity went public saying they had just sold their turds on ebay for 500 quid.... joe public would be pinching them off by the thousand and trying to list them.... because its easy..to list them that is... most ebay users are just trying to make a few extra quid.... a majority have no idea of the possible consequences of their actions.... some dont even care..... but cry foul if they are subsequently hauled off..... if you want to stop the crap on ebay........ bring in the VAT man and watch the exodus.

Default ebay

Ebay is just like any other business, it has a great product, (the sellers) with one of the largest customer base anyone will ever see (the customers) with alot of people overcharging on P&P and making extra money that ebay cant touch, believe me ebay is not trying to be nice, it is raking in more money, Ebay does not care how many small "seller" it puts out of business because for every one it losses, another will take its place sooner or later Ebay will make the fees a little higher, either make charges for postage or make it so that the seller has to offer free postage on there site, all sellers will only have PAYPAL as it's payment option, WHY I here you say, Because it can.
