Why should they take £50 from a high value item compared to £3 from a lower priced item? What overhead differences of £47 are in place when a high value item sells compared to a low value?
|
You can use the same argument/logic when buying. Why should someone who purchases 1000pcs get a cheaper price than a person buying 10pcs. It's the way of the world.

I just don't agree with their fees and how they work them.
There should be a set fee for what ever you sell, or a percentage for what ever you sell.
Not 7% on one category and 5% the next.

ebay is bordering on the microsoft example that was deemed "not right" by the courts recently, Microsoft, if I remember rightly, didnt allow other media players [simplistic statement I agree]
In my opinion ebay is not a monopoly, there are other auction sites so how can it be described as a monopoly? It may monopolise the market by user choice, but isnt that the ultimate dream of every business? When bill gates started with his dream "a computer on every desk and in every home" he didnt mean just any computer.
To many people think that because they sell on ebay they are business men or women. Most are just trying to scratch a little extra cash, and as thats the only outlet they know they complain when things change.
Ebay is a business, a very successful business. I wish I owned it...... along with microsoft and google. Business exists to make money..... end of story.
The way they do it may not be fair or ethical or equitable to some. But lets be honest here.... if you had a cash cow that dripped millions into your bank account would you care much about the bedroom curtain twitchers who sell dodgy items to make an extra quid ?..... unless you had to?

wow, everyone has a right to there own opinion, but it seems that that some don't like it if there oppinion is not the same as theres, everyone has a differant experiance with Paypal, and I was under the impresion that these forums are for peaple to share there opinions and experiances not lower the coversation by name calling and inuendo, I myself think that paypal has a good service, but I do think that there fees are a little high, and yes paypal have alot of staff and overheads, I don't think anyone will disput, but taking into account that a credit card company who hire alot more people but charge alot less in fees for there services, and they have even higher overheads per customer than Paypal, but a fact that I am sure of which someone has covered and missed out on the piont, is that if no one complains then nothing gets done, I mayself everytime I ask paypal a question or require a service put my comments down on how I think paypal has handled my question/service and I tell the truth, but like I say if everyone says paypal is great (whether they aggree or not) you will find that there fees would go up, just like any company and even the government there is only so much people will allow before they react, so rounding this off, if you have a positive comment to add to this subject then I would like to here, but if you have come here to just name call, then I suggest you open your own thred entitled, ONLY ANSWER THIS THRED IF YOU SHARE MY, AND ONLY MY OPPINION, PLEASE DON'T RESPOND IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN OPPINION."
thankyou all

Where have you got this from? Why do you state that Paypal charge far higher fees than a Merchant Account? Have you looked at the prices?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if somebody is attacking a company, they need to be able to back up their woods in order to be taken seriously. You can't just say 'Paypal charge too much compaired to Merchant Accounts, because they don't!

People might want to read the article that I have submitted which explains the pros and cons of using a Merchant Account and PayPal online for processing credit / debit cards. It will also conclude which method is suitable for eBay sellers and people who run shopping cart websites.

They both have different IP's. It doesn't appear to be the same person!
