It is much harder to sell on ebid you will sell 100 times more on ebay.

Candace I don't agree, I see eBid giving me a good second sourse of income, I am starting to get the hits, and it hasn't cost me the earth in fees.

I agree eBay has loads of hits, but you also get loads of rules and get charged a lot of money to keep listing.

"Not even selling is a major loss" not how I see it, how many times have you listed items on eBay, paid your fees and they havn't sold? More then £49.99 worth? If so, then listing on eBid isn't a "major loss"

I understand that my market is a little different, as I deal with the military and military types, but I have made more sales away from eBay, since I (was forced) to leave, then I ever did when I was listing.

Well it sounds to me that you don't care about how much money you make as long as you don't get stuck with a few unsold listings...I was making 20k a month until eBay sicked their bots on me...That's a living my friend. Now that I'm in the process of moving the last of my physical stock, I have to come up with something else to sell, and put myself back on track. I'm basically unemployed now! You expect me to go from 20k a month to $400 a month (maybe) on ebid? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! It will be years! 5 to 8 before ebid comes anywhere close to eBay, (considering they last that long) and their not starting off well with all the fake Gucci, and Louis Vuittion bags...You think ebid is ready to take on 60 million dollar lawsuits? That's what they're facing if they don't get a grip on all the China sellers who think ebid is the new wild west...I wish you the best of luck though, keep us posted.

I used eBID for a while. The no fees policy is fantasic! but it sadly just does not have the traffic/audience or publicity that eBay does.

But slowly but surley i think eBid will take off and i hope they do.

And if eBid is getting good traffic for your products, you are flying.

Good luck

I am thinking about starting an ebay business and am a bit wary now.

eBay shut down my Lacoste operation. Check out this topic I made >>They make me f-word sick!!

I have a second account and I'm getting rid of my last 200 shirts for a major loss. I have beat every obstacle eBay has tried to place in front of me. I jumped through every hoop they asked. My feedback is still 100% never had a PP dispute.(until they canceled my auctions) The buyers simply loved me, but with VERO, none of that matters anymore. Someone can simply say "I don't want this seller-selling our products" and it's over my friend.

It doesn't matter where you got your stock, or where your drop shipping from. This is yet another "Mob" like tactic from eBay to make sure they don't get sued, or if they do, they can always yell in court. Hey we got our VERO policy. If you feel that buyers are selling fakes why didn't you have them removed? At least that's what they did against Tiffany&Co. when they tried to sue, and failed!

My advise is to only plan to make a living with eBay if your selling unbranded electronics, and clothing. Anything that's a name brand--it's only a matter of time before they pull the rug from under your feet if your not an authorized dealer. I pulled all of my money off paypoop, because they're crooks too. I owe eBay about $1300 in unpaid fees...Well guess what, they can eat me, because they wont see one red cent from my old account again. My new plan is to take over the Mp4 market. Lots of money to be made there. This could be a blessing in disguise, but it sure feels like hell right now...

Thats very sad indeed candace - disgraceful in some ways if you are selling legit gear.

I wish you all the best in your future ventures!!

If it does not come through the company's controlled distribution system, it's not legal. It can be "genuine", but if it was purchased outside of their distribution channel, you have o right to sell it. That's what VERO is all about.

Some companies say "Our products will never be sold on ebay" and they mean it. If they have their own distribution system, and things turn up on ebay, they have been stolen or "diverted", which makes them VERO material.

If they distribute through independent distributors, who have signed agreements to only sell to authorized accounts, and the distributors are required to get the same commitment from their customers, and their goods end up on ebay, they have still been purchased outside the standard distribution system and are not approved.

It may suck to Candace, but it's how some companies choose to operate and they DO have the right ot protect their trademarks and copyrights, among other things.

Read what is written on this forum, forget branded electronics and clothing. Find some non-branded goods and get rich....

I recently set up with Ebid - I thought the £49.99 was a decent gamble anyway. There are sellers on there with over 1000 feedbacks, that gives me a bit of hope, but I am as yet to make a sale.
