I sell on both ebay and ebid, well, sort of sell on ebi, actually had my first sale this morning after a few weeks. The thing with ebid is you cant just write your listings and expect them to magically sell, as many do in feebay... ya gotta work hard at it, advertising at every oppurtunity, leafleting your ebay customers, mentioning it in forums.. It is not viable at the moment to only have ebid as yor source of income but I think for sellers who sell collectables etc. it seems to be getting there.. and the current unhappy sellers climate is a positive negative for ebid.. yes many sellers are moving over but they are not bringing their buyers ifykwim... I am an optimist though, and think by paying the 50squids for lifetime, it is not so much to loose, I have lost the same amount relisting on feebay..... all huge multinationals eventually have to face up to the fact competition will rise.... it may take time but it will happen.. all the policy changes and designs to make ebay a super mall will help other sites like ebid take a large chunk of the online auction market, might not be this year, or next, but i think it is coming... but then as i said i am an optimist who hates the way feebay is treating the people who have put it where it is today!!

I've been selling on ebid for just over a year. I admit it's slow but I've well covered my subscription. It just needs time so I intend to stick with it.I,ve paid more in ebay fees in the last year than my subscription to ebid cost me.my exposure to ebay is limited to cheap listing days now.

Well a strange thing has happened, on Wednesday eBay very kindely sent me a e-voucher for £10.00 to spend on what I liked, and included with it a customer service number to call if I needed it.

So I rang them, said thankyou for the voucher, but seeing that my account is suspended, I can't spent it!

Then this morning, my account was fully working again, no email from eBay to tell me why! No "your account is open but you are still restricted" just re-opened! So I ordered some ink with the voucher to check all was working.

And it did!

I'm going to keep an eye on eBid, it will easily overtake ebay sooner or later.

How do you work that out?

It's been going for nigh in ten years already and hasn't even scratched the surface of ebay yet?

What sort of timescale are you talking - 100 years?

Actually, in the past 3 months (since major ebay changes) listings went from 250'000 worldwide to over 2.5 million. Now if that doesn't tell you something then i dont know what else to say. Listings are growing everyday.

Listings are going up but, from what I hear, sales aren't in line with that same rise

Thats not a blog - its a promotion page you've written
