That's exactly what they can do. It might not be fair but private companies can decide who their customers are and unless they are breaking discrimination laws they are doing nothing wrong.

Ebay's gone down the pan the last couple of months. buyers think they can get away with a lot more now sellers cant leave a negative. Its a joke that theyve closed your account!

DM I tend to agree with you, while I am very unhappy about this, ebay don't have to deal with me. They can stop my account and stop me trading with them if they want - and they have.

Its no different then being banned from a shop on the highstreet, you don't have to give a reason, and once its don't then the person is no longer allowed in their!

Its a shame, but I was in the process of leaving eBay anyway, this has just forced me to speed up a little bit!

Is it not discrimination to get rid of a seller who has done nothing wrong, pays his fees but to allow other sellers that do break laws to continue trading?

Is it not discrimination to suspend a small seller for nothing but to allow a big seller to do what they like because they sell more items?

I think a case in court could be made on that basis, especially if they are running a legitimate business on eBay and eBay effectively puts a end to that business.

So one one hand they tell me to speak to my customers and work out any problems - then on the other hand they make sure I can't do this!

Good old eBay looking after its sellers again.....
Given the above information it is possible that they have breeched the contract they have with you..... this will depend on the wording [its all in the wording] of the agreement and what is expected and allowed in this situation. Be warned any case for breech of contract is never a certainty or inexpensive and vary rarely concluded sooner than later.
Read the wording carefully regarding their duties and responsibilities under the circumstances and try to refrain from reading it as if you know what it says before you start.
It could be that they are in breech of their own terms and conditions.

I feel very sorry for you Tango. There doesn't seem be be any obvious reason for your suspension.

I think it's pretty obvious what eBay have decided to do. I personally think that they are attemping to split eBay two ways, serious business sellers and people who sell bits from around the house. They don't seem to want small businesses and dropshippers on their site.

They have carried out alot of research in the last year and alot of customer dissatisfaction was directed at small business sellers, so eBay have reacted.

Whether it's right or not is another matter, but it's simply a strategy change, just like when a company pulls a product range which has a higher returns rate.

Fivestar, I agree, if I ran eBay I would have taken much the same route they have! Its all about profit, and eBay will make a lot more if they get rid of us smaller sellers, and get the big sellers to increase there sales.

Oh well, one door closes, another few open

It's not illegal to discriminate small businesses. If ebay were breaking discrimination laws (racism, sexism etc..) then yes it would be illegal.

Might be worth contacting your powerseller account manager, this is happening a lot, and a lot of powersellers are re-instated almost instantly, seems watch sellers, particularly branded watches are getting a rough ride at the moment, one guy with near perfect feedback was suspended like yourself, wasput straight back on, might be worth changing your message first.

Basically Ebay lifted my listings whilst other bigger sellers were making a fortune selling the same product.I complied with all of Ebays OEM listing procedures and policies yet they marked my powerseller account as 'FALING' and have threatned to close me down permanantly.iam intrested about this power seller manager things, how would i contact mine ? ive never had the need to go down this route before
