How easy is it to sell on eBay?
Hello fellow TWF peoples! I just came across a question in my head and I thought? How easy is it to sell items on eBay? I mean from sourcing the popular products like mobiles and video games to thinks like house hold items like pots? I recently listed 5 GTA IV's on XBOX 360 and none of them have sold yet, however while scanning through the forums I saw a post where a guy has a turn over of 200k after a mere 3 months of setting up his eBay account selling a wide range of things.
There's alot of eBay members out there, alot of stuff being sold and alot of potential profit... But how to do it right? Is there a huge difference between selling a mobile and a pot, apart from profit ofcourse?
Post your ideas!

In terms of setting up an auction on eBay, its a very easy process. Making a sale was generally quite easy too, but eBay is entering a period of change and as such, its affected buyers and sellers within the marketplace. eBay isn't the place it was six months ago, which is undoubtedly why businesses are seeing a downturn in overall sales.
There are other factors contributing to this, the economic situation we have here in the UK (and overseas) is certainly causing consumers to spend less on auctions through eBay, hence you may not see the traffic or interest in the items you are offering as you did six or twelve months ago.
You're right, there are still lots of buyers and sellers out there, by no means is eBay dead in the water but its changing at an unprecedented rate it would be foolish not to really research your product and the market you hope to sell to before going ahead with anything.

It's a balancing act between, the right product, the right price, the right time and the right frequency. Quite a science and one that is usually born from years of trial and error!

There are various e books available that give you an insight to how the the top powersellers of Ebay operate. It could be worth investing in one of those if you are new to Ebay.

If there was a a magic formula in the guise of an ebook everyone on ebay would be a powerseller and driving Bentleys. Don't believe everything you read!
Ebay is hard work and becoming increasingly harder. You can make a few quid here and there but if you want to build a sustainable business on ebay it's the same as in the real world. Lot's of hard work and half a business brain. Liken it to buying a shop, buying stock from a wholesaler and trying to survive.
Just because it's online, and established, that doesn't alter the basic fundamentals of building a successful business.
This is not directed at anyone in particular, but there is a misconception that you can simply buy some stock, list it on ebay and you are in business. Unfortunately there is a lot more involved than that!
