Default Classified Ads on ebay

I have recently got some very attractive prices for iPods from a classified ad on ebay, however after consulting with a few other people it seems that these prices are too good to be true

I wondered if being a classified ad it would be alright?

yes that is what I mean and I have decided to take a risk and place an order of 1 just to see how it works out.

If this is a scam where do I stand with ebay?

I don't think you are protected because it's a classified ad meaning your not buying anything, you are contacting the seller for more details by email or phone and making a transaction outside of eBay.

This is why scammers do so well people like you not being bothered about losing money when you know the prices are unrealistic.
