Unhappy Theres always someone selling it cheaper on ebay....

hey all.

im 18 years old from the uk. I wanted to start a business selling adobe software, it seemed to be a market that had not been completely saturated, i spent ages finding a rebutable and authentic wholesale supplier, i found one eventually. then i find out that there are people on ebay selling the software alot cheaper than me, and even if i buy from the wholesaler in a quantity of 300 im not going to get the price these ebay sellers are selling for. its the same with other items i looked into selling. designer clothing, dvds, fragrances, headphones...

almost everything and anything seems to be selling a hell of a lot cheaper. i know the site is plagued with fakes, but ebay doesnt seem to be doing anything about it, probably because these fake sellers are contributing greatly to ebays profits, but what it does is give an honest guy like me an extremely hard time selling things on the internet.

who would want to buy something expensive, when they can by something cheap that looks and feels 99 percent the same.

and if i start selling fakes then thats clearly breaking the law. something im not going to do.

so it seems like a lose lose situation??
or am i missing something???

ps. sorry if this post sounded a little long winded. i tend to go on...

You're missing one very important element :-)

The Low Price Myth

should have seen that one coming.

if you are selling this product and 200 people by it, wont the ideas become over used and ineffective. the same as giving 200 people your wholesale suppliers resulting in a flood of sellers on ebay, all selling the same stuff, and driving prices even lower.

Didn't you get the idea? It's NOT always the price what makes it work or not.

The idea is based on basic business/marketing strategies so it will hardly saturate the market. Remember there are no magic formulas to success - just hard work.

It may be that they are importing things from the grey market and whilst its not strictly a fake, its frowned upon by the authorities hence can be bought cheaper.

At least you took the time to find out who was selling what, and for how much. A lot of people just have an idea, order some stock and then find out they can't compete. You only lost your time, and not your money.
