Selling On Amazon? - Getting Started
Registration?
Been registered on eBay for almost a year but due to recent changes, I'm after another auction site.
Just want to get started but dont know how to. Register my account, trying to enter my Bank Details, it says "Account Number", is that the 8 digit number or the long 16 digit number on my bank card?
Also, when I tried listing something before adding my bank details, I was asked to enter some card details but only being able to choose from four mostly credit cards but I've only got a Solo bank card.
What Can I Sell?
Can I sell anything on Amazon like I can do on eBay or is it specific items that are already on there?
Fees?
Can I list something for free, I've read somewhere you have to pay £25 monthly?
Thanks in advance.

Amazon charge per listing and then commission on the sale, unless you are a featured seller, which takes at least 90 days of good performance before they will consider it.
Their commission varies depending on what yo are selling but it is approx 15%, they also offer shipping credit too.
I don't want this to sound rude, but if you are not sure about bank details etc is selling on a big platform like Amazon really for you? It is a lot more professional than ebay, and customers expect a lot more. Any bank details which you enter which are wrong Amazon will not let you proceed. They should also let you enter Solo details, but not certain as not been thru this stage in a long time.
As a casual marketplace Amazon is not great, as a proper business it is amazing and worth every minute of yourtime.

The only thing I'll find hard is getting started, just like eBay but in a year I recieved 500+ feedback, no negatives, reached the powerseller status in 6 months and was able to keep the status until their recent changes.

You can sell almost anything listed on their site, and when you are a featured seller you can add your own items and get highlighted on what they call a "buy box".
I lose about 20% of my sales to commission so this needs to be considered when you list items, basically you have to almost sell for 20% more to compensate for the fees, or simply make a low margin.

I presume you get more for your sales on Amazon than ebay for example?
