Although it's not a lot of money. you will be very lucky to to make £500 a week on ebay from day one.

If you are new to this, I'd suggest you take another job and in your spare time build up your ebay business and once established build a website to compliment your ebay business. Ebay doesn't guarantee you success or any profit. As with the real world, good business skills will ultimately lead to success (with a bit of luck thrown in).

If you are in the IT business why not look at something related to that and combine a service with products?

Thanks for that.
I'm afraid it's all or nothing as there's no way I could build up a business and do my job in I.T.
I would not need to make £500 per week from day 1.
If I could make £250 a week for the first 6 months and then build up from that it would be ok.
As for combining my I.T. skills with a business:
1) Quite frankly after 20 years I've had enough...life's too short
2) I'm an Analyst/Programmer on a main frame, about as useful as a chocolate tea pot in the real world
rgds,
Anthony

Well if that's the case, go for it! You don't know until you try.

I am not trying to put you off the idea but it takes time to source the right stock at the right price (unless you have all that sorted out already?). If you have not done anything like this before, £250 a week is achievable with lots of hours and hard work initially.

Spread you product range with stuff you make can £5, £20, £50 and £100 on. Obviously aim to sell more of the £5 stuff for a consistent income and one a week of the higher end stuff makes up your weekly salary.

Anyway, good luck.

terribly sorry its called a sense of humour, you might need one at times if you are going into business yourself especially if Ebay is to be your main market.

Bit of research on here will tell you that.

No worries I didn't mean to cause offence

That just helps your sales. You have established trust. Is any of that seller feedback?
