Thumbs down Bloody Paypal!

Ok so what happened was I listed 2 pieces of jewellery on gumtree.com. My ex bought them for me and desperately wanted to get rid of. Anyone had one interested buyer contact me about the ring and then the next day her friend called and wanted the necklace blah blah and so forth. They both wanted to pay via paypal which was fine with me & I guess they also wanted to have some sort of cover. After they paid, paypal sent email saying they were holding funds, my account was limited? and I needed to provide a few identifications, credit card, proof of address, license. I did all this then they wanted to know about the transactions. They also wanted me to provide proof of postage. So I wrote this huge letter describing the whole process and before I even got to send it they sent another email saying they have permanently limited my account and I cannot appeal..

WTF? I didn't even get a chance to appeal.. *******.

Anyway I have emailed them again but my Q is, what is going to happen to my money? It was about $1300 bucks.

Why not contact Paypal Service Team for details?
Are you sure you've provided your identifications, credit card, proof of address, license to the real Paypal staff ? I know some fake Paypal staff are trying to steal our ID information and get our money later. I mean some of them are professional scammers. Take care

Maybe it's because your from down under? hehe...

Okay on a serious note... maybe you have reached your fund limit? i know that sometimes you have a certain amount of which can be processed via Paypal & once it has reached the limit, it then needs to be lifted (via proof, verification e.t.c...). It's simply to make sure that YOU are the account holder due to so many Paypal flimpers out there. I would suggest that you send all the docs that they request (by e-mail & post),,, I don't understand why they have stated that it has been limited permanently? you have an account with them & that account has your funds in it, once the verification process is cleared then you are entitled to it.

Hope this helps

Steve

Well it says the two payments are being held, and also that they have permanently closed my account and I can access my funds after 180 days... does this include the two payments being 'held'? The mail is def from paypal as it shows up when I log in. HELP??

Bring it up with paypal... its all you can do.

It's not like any of the members here have access to the paypal control panel... all we can do is tell you to talk to paypal..

It's Paypal covering it's own back. If it was a stolen credit card and you withdrew the money they loose money. If you were a fraudster and didn't send the goods and the buyer put in a credit card chargeback they loose money.

If in 180 days time nothing happens you get your money back.

Yes, PayPal's well known for not listening to sellers, only buyers. You won't be able to change their minds on anything unfortunately, you'll just have to wait 6 months for your money back. PayPal are the BEST.
