You have to give a refund because you sold FAKE products!

Sorry but at that price they are fake. You probably paid $50 each for them from China. My friend bought some Microsoft software from China and not in loads of trouble - he only sold 3 and had Microsoft knocking at his door. Don't deal in fakes, the hassle is a lot more than the short term gain.

Someone buying 13 copies is not a retail customer. And the claim is not that they are fakes. That has nothing to do with this situation.

The fact that his deal fell through is no problem of yours and no reason for you to offer a refund. You did not sell them with a guaranteed sale agreement, so they are his to get rid off.

Fake or genuine is not an issue here. It may be they are fakes. If so, should he complain about that, you have to make a decision based on that.

But the fact that his deal fell through is no concern of yours. Further, this was done outside any auction, so there are no auction rules to go by.

This is simply a buyer / seller situation and you are only required to stick with whatever you agreed upon at time of sale. If you did not offer to take them back if he didn't sell them, you are under no obligation to do so. And any retail seller rules would not apply to 13 copies of anything, they were clearly bought to resell by the buyer.

Forget it. Tell him you are sorry to hear of his misfortune, but it has nothing to do with you.

Andy777, I have no use for sellers of fake goods, but that is not the issue here. I am the first to cry foul when fakes are mentioned and as a mod elsewhere delete things all the time.

And I'll agree, from the pricing, these may very well be fakes. But that is not the issue. The issue is the buyer's sale fell through. Tough luck, but not a reason to return them.

Until the buyer screams fakes or reports the to the authorities, it is a moot point.

Yeah, Pete makes a good point.

BUT - if the buyer insists on refund and KarimH won't issue it - buyer could just file a charge back and then seller will be left without the FAKE stock and money as well.

clearly the products in question are fake, at the end of the day just accept a return and sort the issue yourself?

if 13 copies of CS3 are available for £500 then the world has gone mad (er)
