Hi Ant.
just sharing one of my early learning experiences here. I sold an item and received an email saying it didn't work, the previous 40 I sold to other people worked fine. I emailed back with apologies and offered a full refund when they returned it. After waiting 9 days I thought oh well, it will arrive eventually and sent the refund. Naive or what !! needless to say, it never arrived. Maybe it was lost in the post -or maybe I'd been scammed. I will never know. I've moved on since then.

I have stuff that arrives supposedly not working or doesn't arrive at all. With me it depends on the value and the customer. Normally they get an automatic replacement or refund.

More expensive stuff has to be 'investigated' (or if I feel the customer is trying it on).

If it is our mistake we send a courier to pick it up and send a replacement in the meantime.

There are laws and their is customer service. Customer Service is the main thing you should concentrate as long as you operate over and above what the law dictates.
