Ebid and Ebay Virus Sender! BEWARE!!

To all you auction dogs please beware. I have been getting emails through the question and answer option on my Ebid auctions from some pinhead offering me additional income. Here is his post on my Ebid auction below. Do Not Try This!!

Here is what I came up with after some searching on this site below from some poor guy.

I recently received a question on one of my listings, i won't mention the ebay user name you will know if you receive a simlar question since i'm not sure of the policy on that. I will WARN you not to follow the link given i did so .My defender program alerted me of a severe threat TROJAN HORSE my program immediately removed the threat but also had to run a full scan of all programs which takes a couple of hours,I also no better! but hopefully this will inform someone new.this was reported to ebay since it was unsolicited commercial email through ebay.

It was a question about one of my listings from ebay member 29298765e but it was'nt a question it was a job offer to sell on ebay they tell you to go to this site www.commportal.biz as soon as i saw something about russia i clicked off but it was to late.like i said i new better i'll see how long ebay allows 292987e to do this later tony

Hi , was it in your ebay or your email ? either way you need to list the name here and also report it to { spoof@ebay.com } , as you have already done , I get these all the time in my email and you should never follow a link until you check your ebay mail to make sure they are real , I had one from paypal {fake} that let a new type of trojan virus through as soon as I opened the email and it almost killed my computer , I killed it after 24 hours of straight fighting , Norton was no help at all and did not catch it nor did yahoo , I deleated every thing that was put on my computer that day {about 200 support files for the virus} and there were Two files that were copyrighted that were the main virus and would not deleat, these were the master files and they kept redisigning themselves every 30 seconds , but I found I could change the file name and move them so I moved them to my pictures and put each of them in three different folders and then I could deleate the folders and it killed the virus , I sent all the info to microsoft and they tracked it back to the maker in Russia , it was a fun night and an outstanding challenge but I don't ever want to do it again , Mike
