Hello,
Long time viewer of the forum, but only one post early on and thought it was about time I got involved again! Great forum with lots of useful information from very knowledgeable people!
I have decided to take the plunge and attempt to start selling on ebay. I have sold a few things on ebay in the past and would like to attempt to start more regularly. I would like to create a custom template, although I have a basic knowledge of HTML, I am much better on Photoshop.
Researching on ebay, I have seen many people using links to Photobucket images which are in fact there entire listing, created in something like Photoshop, saved as a Jpeg and then linked back in the HTML listing section of ebay. Looking at various Photobucket accounts users seem to have a standard layout which they have altered for different items they sell and then saved as a different file and updated the links for each item listing.
Is this method acceptable in ebay’s eyes? The ebay users I have looked at don’t seem to have their items removed.
Thanks, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

There's nothing wrong with hosting images out of eBay itself.

In fact, these days, it's insane to pay eBay's picture fees!

Thanks Andy, Just to double check its ok that the entire listing itself is a single image (inc text, backgrounds, item images etc) hosted outside of ebay as opposed to just the images of the item being sold.
Just to say as well I signed up for your easyauctionbusiness video newsletters, they are excellent and very informative. Thanks

I'm not sure about that...

But probably yes, why not?

I think I remember reading somewhere that because the listing would not directly be able to amended in ebay. Thinking about it now though it would only be the item description that could not be altered in ebay without changing the source file for the listing, the price, P&P details etc could still be changed with ebay.
I will give it a go and see how I get on. Thanks for the help.

Anthony, apologies for posting in the in wrong font in my previous posts! Thanks

I asked frooition many months ago why most of their custom shops look like they were developed from a single template and they said that ebay are very strict about layout and image size etc

That's not true

It's just easier for them - to use one layout!

Thought as much to be honest but I was so pleased with the work they did, I let it drop
