Hi,

I'm new to this forum and not really sure of rules, so apologies if I get anything wrong.

I would be interested to know if anyone has any experience of selling wholesale/Joblots on Ebay? I am thinking of buying my products in bulk, and then breaking them down into small lots of maybe 6, and selling them on Ebay.

I thinks there is possibly a gap in the market for selling on smaller lots to Market Traders and bedroom Ebayers.

Any advise would be gratefully received.

Thanks
Emma

Hi
From the point of view of a small business Ebayer, it's great to find good quality wholesale job lots on eBay! I know because I have bought items then resold and haven't done too bad out of it. Personally I don't think there is many good quality job lots for sale on eBay so if you have the money to get great items at good prices, I think you'll do very well on eBay with this idea.

Regards
Taz

I think it can be pretty crap, with wholesale items you've got a markup that won't be that substancial in most cases.

Couple with eBay listing fee's, final value fee's, paypal fee's and the postage sometimes you're better off retailing it.

Like I said - it can be pretty crap.

CRAP I TELL YOU!

Have a look at the items and then look into the mark up, taking into account fees and everything, if you still think it is worth it give it a go!

AVOID ebay like the plague and BEWARE of Paypal!!!

Don’t forget to read your ammended Paypal User Agreement. Paypal (owned by ebay, can now withhold any users funds for up to 180 days at Paypal’s “sole discretion”. Want to fight the withholding of your funds?…good luck with that. Paypal is judge, jury and executioner.

I am a Silver Powerseller on eBay - a fair amount of revenue comes through it - however I never advertise job lots because of the slim profit margins from wholesale.

Niche retailing on eBay would bring back fantastic profit (fair play to you)

However, like I said before, if you sell wholesale, you can only mark up a certain amount (there has to be profit for the retailer) now with that natural slim margin, minus ebay listing, fvf and paypal that profit margin becomes even slimmer.

Just my 7 pence.

I think it will be better repacking joblots into individual products. As resellers are looking to make a profit themselves, they would not be attracted by small lots which can only earn them 10-20%.
