I understand that but what about the delivery fees? what delivery method does their payment usually cover? (i.e: if they only provide XXX amount for delivery, but recorded delivery is more expensive, what happens there as you end up being more out of pocket?)

That's why you have to make your numbers right :-)

If the actual shipping costs are higher, you have to include them into the item's price.

Hi,

I had a thread going on a similar subject and Greedyboy posted a calculator he'd devised.

Hope this helps New to amazon

We are just about to start trading on Amazon and the whole thing is a huge learning experience for us as well.

We trade in laser toner cartridges, but only genuine originals. There's a huge amount of remanufactured and refilled ones about, but having used some of them (and been involved in the manufacturing of them briefly), we know that it's not something that we want to be inviolved with.

I did originally find a calculator on the net, but it wouldn't allow you to change the Amazon fees for the lower rate we will pay in the "electronics" section. Greedyboy saved the day by posting his version, which is flexible enough for us to input our own figures. This is also handy if Amazon alter their fees at any stage.

We've gone straight in with the Pro Merchant (VAT registered).

This is all new to us as well, but the calculator is obviously more relavant to our situation.

You could try this one http://www.mwls.co.uk/resources/amzprofit.htm I haven't looked at it too closely, as the Amazon fees were not adjustable. The author says he will do a customised version of the tool for £4.95 - may be worth a punt.
