It actually looks better than I thought but much prefer plain backgrounds (white is my favourite), most of mine are on white backgrounds and I dont bother watermarking them but I search for similar items all the time and report anybody I see using them.

Cant beleive people copy yours as they are so recognisable!

I've tried white. Some games look good, other games look terrible.

You can't do much for videogame. The appearance of my game is exactly the same as from another seller. I'm sure somebody who sees this picture will instantly recognise me. I first took these pictures exactly the same way but without a logo. As said in my previous mail I saw my pictures everywhere. so they can't be too bad.

The reason I take my pictures this way is not to have the best looking pictures, but to be recognised. Lot's of other sellers sell exactly the same stuff as I do. When people look at my item I want them to immediately recognise me.

Please feel free to take a look to one of my auctions:
http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/ws/eBayISAPI...e=STRK:MESE:IT

I'm sure the rest is looking more than OK.

Feel free to comment.

That's my problem. I absolute don't have the time to take a picture and than cleaning it up with photoshop. Some sellers just concentrate on a few titels and sell large numbers of these. So you could take 1 picture, watermark&photoshop it and use it for every listing.

I have a few hundred different titles online. It's impossible to take pictures and photoshop each and everyone if them

My core business is aimed at rare and expensive games. I really need to add a picture of the actual item. You wouldn't feel happy buying a £ 65 retrogames that looks perfect on the picture but comes with a completely mashed case.

For taking photos of pearls I'd personally use HDR method. This will give you all details you need. Take 5 photos with EV -2, -1, 0, 1, +1, +2, then merge them into one image using Photomatix, then use Detail Enhancment in Photomatix and then if needed use Raw Camera in Photoshop CS.
You will get a professional picture.

For more info and some galleries visit: http://www.hdrsoft.com/index.html

And if you need to do some repeat work on your pictures using Photoshop like adding a water mark, resizing, changing size of canvass, you can always use actions recording or Automate option from Menu/File.

BTW There are a lot of good photoshop tutorials on youtube. Just have a look at them, exercise and you'll be flying after one month.

regards,
Simon

Just a tighter crop and a little adjustment to the contrast which takes a few seconds can sharpen the image even if you dont want to spend the time cutting the image out.

However the easiest way to improve this image is a white background, anything, a white sheet, a towel, white paper, it will make the world of difference.

I don't want to make the best pictures. I want to take pinctures by which people recognize me.

You won't find a lot of pictures with a blue background with yellow flowers ;-)

I'm currently using a very old camera. I'm planning to buy a new one. This will also help.
