Do you guys include warranty details in your listing?

I have no problem giving a refund or replacement on faulty items and have no quibble 7 days return policy in place but I am wondering about the implication of manufacturer's warranty as a seller.

Say for instance I bought 'Dell Notebook' and sell it on ebay with details 'This Dell Notebook comes with 12 months manufaturer's guarantee'. And it's died on my customer in 6 months time.

Can my customer contact the manufacturer directly within the warranty period. Is ebay transaction record good enough for them to get a replacement or repair from the manufacturer? Or should I sort it for them even after 6 months?

With Dell specifically there is a process of transferring the warranty. I have sold several Dell Laptops with hefty next day on-site business support. You basically have to fill out a form on Dells websites transferring ownership and thus warranty. I would imagine there is a similar process with other big vendors. You can do a warranty check on most websites.

If you are buying to sell, then the previous owner would have to transfer to you otherwise in dells eyes you wouldn't own it, the person you bought it off would.

If it has dell business warranty then it is a massive selling point to a buyer! ie something breaks, a nice man from Dell is on your door step the next day with a bag full of parts to replace what is necessary

Give me a shout if you need more info, but i believe if you just search on dell's site for "ownership transfer" you should find what you need.
