Just getting Amazon setup, now i've got my barcodes.

Just wondered what the deal is with offering free delivery Amazon. If I offer an item for example £20.99 plus free delivery and a competitor offers the same item for £17.99 plus £3.99 delivery. Who will come higher in the search rankings?

In other words do Amazon take into account the total price (not just the price without delivery) when ranking the searches?

Amazon add the two together and show the cheapest first however:

If you offered an item for £20

and someone else offered an item for £18 + £3 postage.

The £20 item would appear in the list first, but the £18 will be classed "Low Priced Item"

Thanks for that. I've also noticed it doesn't show the shipping charge in the search results (unlike ebay)

So if a customer sees your listing in the results screen, it will look like you are charging more than your competitor.

Yes it is odd,

I have an item up for £18.99 and another buyer at £22 with Free P&P. My P&P is £4.38 but I still show up as the low priced item.

It's great for me, but probably frustrating for the other seller.
