Default Honest question

if you were selling a product and given the fact that your listing was as honest and accurate as possible; and some moron who isn't responsible enough to read the listing before placing a bid decides to at the very last second place a bid that is $800 over the market value. Would you let him pay that much? Technically it is his fault for being dumb enough to not read what he's purchasing. Do you make him pay for being so ignorant or do you give him a pass and give the bid to the next highest bidder?

the average selling price for my product is 350. This idiot places a 1,150 bid in the final seconds. tsk!

Send him a message outlining details of the item and asking him if he wishes to continue with purchase. That is you covered if he decides to go ahead with the purchase.

They wont pay, usually a scam or a competitor messing around.

Agreed. Check if the person is from Nigeria. If they are, report immediately.

If they have 0 feedback and a new member I would give them 24 hours to pay, no doubt they will not pay so just offer it to the next highest bidder.

Yeah. I recieved a message from eBay saying it was a stolen account placing the bid. Bullcrap because 3-4 of the second chance prices I could have offers were good enough for what I wanted to let my products go for. =( now I have to relist because of this idiot.

One of the negatives of ebay I'm afraid.....you've just gotta take it on the chin and move on really, Ebay favours buyers way too much to make a big deal out of this.

wouldnt there have to be 2 people with that bidding range in order for the bid to hit 1,150?

the winner & runner might be connected as the runner up would of had to have a automatic highest bid placed at 1,100 or so..

ebay bids only register slightly higher then the previous bids unless someone has set a automatic highest bid.
