Ebay has forced free postage for a product I sell on ebay.

For UK I can offer free postage, fine. But for non UK customers I need to send my items by Airsure (to prove delivery for paypal claims etc), so I need to charge a little extra to make it worthwhile for me.

But how can I do that now ? If I don't make the International postage option available my listing won't appear in the international section. But if I make it available, I have to make it FREE postage ! and if I do that then I can't really charge a postage fee!

Any ideas ?

Hi,

As far as i'm aware , you can still charge postage for international deliveries.

Take the hit of losing a few £ per item for potentially higher sales? Is the Risk/reward worth it?

Hmm, I'l double check, but last time I tried it it wouldn't accept any other value for international postage other than '0'.

I've thought about losing a few £ profit for higher sales etc, but it seems users (from Italy mainly!) start filing 'item not received' claims after two weeks or so. So just a few of those and all those higher sales balance out or worse off.

Even International Signed For is not enough to stop these claims, the only to stop those claims is to use proof of delivery (RM Airsure etc)

I have International postage on all my forced free post listings, and Airsure is a waste of money just use Small Packet airmail if value is under £39.

Ive noticed recently lots of sellers will not post to Italy or Germany.
