Default Keeping invoices - Taxman

Hi

I always planned on keeping all my email ebay / paypal selling notifications and invoices just in case the taxman wanted to see my books.

But my email acount is starting to get stupidly full, i have tried to save them but it doesn't work and i don't fancy printing them all off.

My question being, are the records kept on my online paypal account sufficient? Also i realise that this only covers transactions using paypal, so should i print off all the sold notifications involving cheque transactions?

Just a little clueless about my books since this is my first tax return coming up.

Thanks
Simon

you should keep a record of purchases and sales totals the easy way to do it is on a spreadsheet then print off once a month of store on a disc. Yahoo & Google have a unlimited space amount for their email so could use that if you just want to keep it via email

Do you use Seller Manager Pro?

If you do, we can offer a bit of advice - what we like to do is, at the end of every month, 'select all' on the sold view, and click 'download' on the top right-hand corner. This will export all your sales records into an Excel file, including what was purchased, the price, buyer details, p&p, etc.etc, which you will just need to tidy up a bit. After you have exported a page of sales, archive it, which moves it out of the way to avoid confusion - you can always go back to view the sales by going into the 'archive' folder on ebay if you need to.

I'm not sure how to go about it if you are not on selling manager pro, but i'm sure there is a similar way to download your sales records, without having to type it all out!

Hope this helps!
