Default a proposed couple ebay listings to financially ponder

hi peeps

wondered if u experts on here could assist me in a couple of ebay auctions.
i have 2 proposed items to use.

the first one is with a cost value of 2.25 and there is someone on there already trading them at 4.99 inc shipping the same product.
what would be the best way to achieve its maximum profit on there (ie multiple listings etc)
i used the ebay calculator and best case scenario is a 40p ish profit if i undercut to a round figure.

second item s are to be sold in batches of 5/10 and cost 37p each (:3.70 for 10.)
the target figure is to get 65p for them and believe they would achieve this.
i know they wont sell at a massive rate probably 10 per day.
i have a freeform template to use for now so a very basic listing charge would be needed i think

would appreciate any pointers anyone might have

You don't have the be the cheapest to sell the most... offer first class service and customer support. Rgearding the products your selling if you feel its owrth your time and effort after selling the items to achieve your profit margin then go for it!

40p profit, best case scenario?! Are people really happy to make 40p profit on an item selling for £5?! I'd say look for something more profitable

40p is 20% his cost price which is pretty good actually.

What is it your are selling?

Only different area's of the market have different trends for selling, likewise some categories on Ebay have 1,000's of products in them, so based on best match, a buy it now listing might get lost. Also some products sell most effectively on auction, some are better on a Buy It Now format, and with certain products it's better to be on shorter durations than others - so it's hard to offer advice when it could be completely wrong for the product.

Have you searched the completed listings to see what listing formats your competitors are using, and what formats seem to be selling most frequently?
