Amazon - Equivalent to Completed Listings
Hi guys,
I have been selling on eBay for quite a while now. But I am interested in selling on Amazon. Obviously before selling anything on eBay the first thing I use is the completed listings feature. I'm not really sure how to do any research on Amazon though. What is the equivalent of completed listings on amazon?
Thanks,
Elis.

i did ask this question a while back, i think you can only see te top selling items in catagories and not a completed listings search like ebay

Re: Amazon - Equivalent to Completed Listings
Hi Eis,
The only tool really is to look at the sales rank in the product details. It will tell you 'Sales Rank **** in dvds' for example - basically the higher it is, the faster it sells - with DVD's, for example, anything in the top 1,000 sells fast, anything in the top 100 flies of the shelves faster than you can blink, and if it's, say, ranked 15,000 you might sell one a week. However, it doesn't cost you anything to list, other than subscriptions fees, you just pay your percentage once the item actually sells.
Hope this helps!
Gail

Re: Amazon - Equivalent to Completed Listings
You only pay subscription fees if you register as a promerchant and its not worth doing that unless you sell at least 30+ items a month.
Listing is free.
The fees that you will be charged are shown before you confirm your listing.
Non promerchant: You get the price you list for plus a postage fee minus Amazons fees.
Amazons fees are a closing fee plus a percentage plus a variable closing fee plus VAT. The variable closing fee is the difference between what they charge the customer for postage and the postage credit paid to you.

Re: Amazon - Equivalent to Completed Listings
Thanks for the advice guys!
New question: I am trying to add a card to confirm payment, but for some reason they can't validate it. It's definitely not a problem with a card. It is a Debit Card, so maybe that is a problem, does amazon accept debit cards?
If that's not the problem does anyone have any idea what is?

Re: Amazon - Equivalent to Completed Listings
Give customer services a call tomorrow morning (they do a call back immediately if you select that option on the contact page). I am fairly certain that the problem is that they no longer accept debit cards and you have to use a credit card. There has been some discussion about it on the Amazon forums and I seem to remember that the reports stated that debit cards are not accepted now. For help on Amazon with rapid responses to most queries go to the Amazon seller discussion boards.

Re: Amazon - Equivalent to Completed Listings
Thanks for the advice, I'll use a credit card then. See if that works.
