Out of interest (and for a bit of research) how long do you guys put on your listings?

What are your thoughts on short-term / Long-term listings? What are the pros and cons?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

With buy it now's I do always 30 days. There's no sense in doing them any shorter unless you're using listing upgrades where the cost varies depending on the length of the listing.

Auctions never any longer than 3 days.

Thats pretty much where I am at the moment with auctions, although I do 7 day BINs.

With 30 day BINs do you not find tha you spend mush of it on page 2 or 3?

My standard BIN's are 30 days, but special offers are usually 7 days twice per month.

If it's an item I've listed before and have sales history for, I find they go right to page 1. You need to make sure you re-list items without changing the title or category to ensure this happens.

If it's a new item, I always try to get onto the first page as quickly as possible. If there's a lot of competition, I sometimes sell at a small loss until I get a good position. This method isn't viable if you only have a couple to sell, but I'm taking of items I have several hundred of and a small loss on 20 or so is easily made back.

BIN 30 days for exact same reasons same reasons as PT

Auctions either 7 or 10 days depending on what it is and the value.
