Re: Problem with buyer 1 month after sale!
The buyer stated she has sent the item to a specialist to be looked at.
I dont know who this third party is, whether they will open the camera up to look at the screen, or anything.
I've escalated the claim to PayPal to decide. I think they have spoken with the buyer over the phone as well, and I also spoke with them today - with not much more joy.
If I have to give a refund, how do I know the item wasnt dropped etc with use? How do I know what this 'specialist' has done?
I am 100% that the item was in brand new condition when it left me!

Re: Problem with buyer 1 month after sale!
PayPal have informed me that they have contacted the buyer and requested details of who the camera has been sent to for a repair quote etc, so that they can check to see if the repairer is legit.
However, being PayPal, I still think the item will be returned to me - we all know PayPal favour the buyer at the end of the day.
When I listed the item I took lots of photos of it. I only used a few of the photos on my listing.
However, one of the photos is of the bottom of the unit - with the serial number etc. So if the buyer tries to pull a fast one by swapping the unit and sending me a faulty one - I will know.
However, what would PayPal do if this is the case?
I could send them my photos of the item (which have the created date etc in the image properties as proof they were taken before the auction) which show the original serial number etc - so have proof of what I sent.
Would I still be forced to refund?
Anyone been in the 'swapping' situation with a buyer before??

On a lighter note: I had a buyer purchase 2 cat flap keys for only a couple of quid more than 6 months ago. They contacted me thru' eBay the other day saying that one had started to play up and the 2nd one had been lost, so could I give them a refund or a replacement for the 2 keys!!
Amazing cheek don't you think, and there will always be people who try it on.
