Default Buy it Now function Ebay

If i was going to sell an item for £300 using the buy it now function on ebay it works out cheaper to list it as follows item £1 P&P £299 you only pay the Final Value Fee on the £1. am i missing something?

Yeah i wouldn't do that, ebay will pull your listing and tbh i certainly wouldn't buy from someone who was clearly trying to get around fees.

And also customers might be wary that they might not be able to get their postage refunded from you.

I thought there was a 'cap' on postage prices depending on the item now to avoid this sort of exploitation...
