Merchant account with bad credit help!

I am so annoyed

. I thought my merchant account was set up with Streamline but received a letter through this morning confirming that my application was unsuccessful due to my previous credit history. I take full responsibility for any poor credit rating but the guy on the phone told me everything was fine when he did a credit check over the phone.

I feel totally stuck now!

I doubt anybody is going to approve me a merchant account either..... Do you think paypal, google checkout, and bank transfer would be satisfactory enough on a website?! I have spent about 2 hours this morning on the phone trying to get my report sorted - phoned experian, banks, streamline but there's nothing anybody can do. I'm going to have to wait another 4 years until things are removed on there.

Anybody else had similar experience?! Any thoughts and suggestions would be grateful right now.

In my opinion, using PayPal and Google Checkout is fine. Also offer the option to pay via cheque as some customers still pay by cheques.

Thanks Saaj- I will do this also.... Not really alot I can do about it apart from try and get my credit score back up and wait till things have been lifted. No point in crying over spilt milk lol.

Hey why not go with PayPal Payments Pro Service.. it only costs £20 Per Month and it's just like a merchant account (I think) you use the PayPal system/Servers/Security but the customer Never leaves your site...

Hey PGC Trading- thanks I may do this....just looking at it now. Are the charges the same as standard paypal for credit/debit card transactions? (btw- I like your profile pic reminds me of how I was this morning! hehe)
