and how would I go about mentioning my site on my about me page without it being an outright ad? Or should I just do it as I am the owner/founder of blah, blah (not wanting to advertise my site on TWF and getting into trouble).

We put our website information in all the emails, end of auction, payment received, item dispatched, please leave feedback etc.

You can put what you want on the about me page, you just can't promote any particular offer etc. So yes something like... we are blah blah... proud owners of is fine and do a logo and link to your website.
