This may have been already discussed on here and may be a dumb question. But anyway, I know you can give out links on your listings to your site etc.... But is it ok to put on your listing something like 'buy from our site and get x% off' etc....

This would therefore be better for the customer and me as I can charge them a lower price through saving the FVF and PayPal fee, but also getting a bigger return on the item itself.

Thanks, Darren

You cant show links to your site on any listing page.

Links Policy.
eBay allows sellers to place only certain types of links within an item description. Links that are allowed are listed below; sellers should review the specific links policy to ensure any links included in the listing adhere to the policies outlined.
  • One link to a page that further describes the item being sold in that listing
  • One link to your email address that opens an email client for potential buyers to ask questions about the item in that listing
  • Links to photos of the item for sale
  • Links to your eBay (including your eBay Shop)
  • Links to your About Me page (in addition to the About Me icon already provided by eBay)
  • Links that provide credits to third parties
  • One link to your listing terms and conditions (providing that the most relevant information is within the listing itself and that this page does not include any links off of the eBay website)

Thanks for that, although, One link to a page that further describes the item being sold in that listing.
Could that possibly link to the decription of that item to my website? As in, my website has further decription, which is linked to the listing. It doesn't say I can't, but eBay being eBay will just suspend my account with warning?

Thanks, Darren

Yeah its a bit underhand to do this, and agaisnt Ebay rules cos u will be effectively cutting them out of their fees. I think you can link to your site, as long as you dont link to specific item. The end result might be what your after anyway!

Actually yeah, I can't do that after reading further into it, Listings must not use techniques to avoid or circumvent eBay fees

Thanks Anyway Guys

You could effectively do that if you have an ebay shop. From your ebay shop, you have the facility to set some answers to possible FAQ , simple include a question regards and there goes your website.
Moreso, from a purchase, the invoice you will send could include your weblink

You can use your 'about me' to promote your website. Also you can set up the emails in selling manager pro to promote your website. We give them a 5% discount code to use if they make a purchase from the website. It works well to be honest, we get a lot of repeat business from it.

Is that only on marketing emails or can I give my site a quick mention on my invoice or end of auction email? Only asking as I only set up my eBay shop yesterday and have no subscribers yet...lol

and how would I go about mentioning my site on my about me page without it being an outright ad? Or should I just do it as I am the owner/founder of blah, blah (not wanting to advertise my site on TWF and getting into trouble).
