You can't solely rely on a platform which you have no control over. We realised this 2 years ago.
Are you saying that i wasnt a "Genuine" Business?

I wouldn't mention buy.com because ebay might decide it's against their terms and conditions to
mention another ebayer disparagingly. It would cost a little extra for subtitles, but it would be visible. Maybe it could be turned into a campaign?
Although it's a good idea in principle, I think you're overestimating the integrity of the buyers on eBay!

If the same product is available from an independent seller @ £100 and Buy.com were selling it at £80, who are you going to choose ?

99 out of 100 buyers will go for Buy.com as they're not only cheaper, but more reputable.

Even with lower price differences people will still normally go with Buy!

willhof has hit the nail on the head, it's exactly the same principle why people use ebay as opposed to ebid or other auction sites, it's not because their fees are cheaper, it's not because they are overly fair to the sellers, we all know the majority of sellers do not like the way they monopolize the auction market by making up to 4 times out of every sale (listing fee, final sale fee, paypal fee and sometimes paypal fee again if you buy more stock from the proceeds using paypal), and/or some of the changes they have made over the past several years, it is only the sheer size of ebay that attracts people as it is a name people have heard of globally, just one example to prove price doesn't really come into it very much when it comes to companies with global recognition.
