I'm just curious if anyone has had experience with this, I ordered some items from a china powerseller on ebay(not that high of feedback yet, around 9000 or so) It was worth around $210, I ended up paying $20 in duties/taxes and the items arrived today, well not what I ordered.. When I opened the box I found some junk thats absolutely useless to me, entirely different item then what I ordered & whats stated on the invoice.(I did double check this was the package from that seller, same tracking code and everything)

So I left a message with the seller, who wont be back for 2 weeks (20-21st), opened my dispute and left some nasty feedback. Any tips on what I should do to make sure I get my claim approved by paypal? Seems easy for buyers to scam me, so hoping its easy for a legit paypal account that saw $6000 in transactions last month to get my money back > >

Also any estimate on time frame? Really annoys me that im out all this time and losing income to invest in new merchandise.

Fax or email a copy of the invoice/packing slip + a photo of the actual goods...

The one thing I won't excuse is sending the wrong item, I don't see how people manage to do it, has happened quite a few times to me with dropshippers, and I recently bought Skate off an Ebay seller and ended up with Smash Court Tennis :S.

A bit harsh. Wait for a response before going bananas. It maybe a genuine mistake, we all make them. It's how they rectify them that matters.

Its just really fruastrating since ive been trying to buy this item for the last month, took 5 days to reach an agreement on price and even paid an extra $30 for shipping for express, they took 4 business days to mail it out which is slower then what they say in their listing and ive ended up paying import fees on items that are useless to me. Bah, was really excited to start selling these too, missed the delievery on friday so had to wait till monday > > Just been a huge hassle with these guys every step of the way.

They even requested I pay without using ebay, but since I never bought from them before I demanded to go through ebay to have a record of what I purchased. Ended up paying an extra 10% because of that, but oh well maybe it paid off if paypal isn't worthless.

All they are saying is that they sent the right items, and I should send the package back and they will give me a refund after recieving and inspecting the package. Wow that sounds like a great way to not be scammed! Let me just mail this back and wait 6 weeks for you to refund my money after losing $100 in shipping fees / taxes.

Anyways, sending paypal images of everything. Have enough photos to make a slide show! hmmm I wonder if they would appreciate the pictures in slideshow format, I could add some sad music then a picture of me screaming in fraustration at the end. I think they'd get a kick out of that.

would you like your buyers not to give you a chance to redeem and instantly neg you? i doubt it, could you not have held back until it was resolved or paypal dispute finished? i think its very harsh that you have negged him already, do genuine mistakes not happen? you said he has 9000 feedback, so he possibly did not do this on purpose.

I do not want to make excuses for anyone, but I can offer some possible explanations.

First, it may be very possible that you are dealing with a company, not one person from their bedroom. If this is the case, keep in mind that many of the "order pullers" and such are country folk with little or no education who are shipped to the cities by the government to work. They are not there by choice.

It is also the end of the year for them. That means a traditional bonus. Maybe the person pulling your order found they were not getting what they hoped and wanted to get back at the boss?

My partner told me just last night of a lady who climbed to the top of a water tower and threatened to jump if her boss did not pay her the bonus she wanted and let her leave 2 days early for the New Year celebration. I'd have let her jump, but her boss gave in and gave her a hefty bonus and 2 extra days off.

You are dealing with a culture far different than your own, so you cannot simply make assumptions as if you were dealing with someone across town.

I do think you should be able to deal with the seller by showing him the images and have him agree to a refund, including return shipping. As others have said, how would you appreciate someone immediately filing a claim against you, without trying to work it out first?
