Greatly increase your web presence with multiple languages.
Sometimes things just come together for no reason. I think they call that serendipity. Anyhow, last Friday night I came across a site promoting converting your site into up to 12 additional languages in order to not only expose it to more viewers, but to greatly increase your results with the search engines. It didn't make an impact on me then, it was late and I was ready to head to bed. But, I bookmarked it.
Then Saturday I was checking one of my regular forums and there was a post asking about the search engine benefits of multiple languages. The kind of thing I would never have clicked, but after Friday night, I had to.
I then went back to that site I'd bookmarked and gave it some serious reading. Among other things I learned that Google crawls in 35 languages! It was really quite interesting, just from a general Internet knowledge standpoint.
The purpose of the site is to sell you a "one click does it all" kind of program that will translate to or from the 12 most popular languages on the net. I'm not going to try and sell it, I'll just post the link and let you see for yourselves.
But it certainly is something any serious Internet marketer should consider not only for additional exposure, but for much greater Google search rankings. Check it out -

This is very worthwhile, not necessarily the progranm linked to but the actual process.

That's what I thought. Just the idea of doing it. I have not explored alternatives, as far as free stuff to do it, etc. But I did feel like anything under a hundred bucks would be quite reasonable, if it really is a one click kind of thing that does image and alt links, etc.
And I did see a 60 day guarantee.
If things slow down a bit toward the end of the week, I'll check out some alternatives...

Not dismissing the link, I didn't even look at it tbh I just didn't want to make it seem like I used that particular program

Would this convert your text on your site or would you have to host a completely different site?

From what I see, you could go either way. I certainly looks like you can keep it all on one domain. And, it looks like you could just do the translation and set up an entirely new site, if you want.

Although automated translation services can be useful, I know from experience that they really aren't any good for business without some sort of human translation to back it up.
I often use Google Translate & Systran to translate English into Spanish and vice-versa, but speak enough Spanish to know that a lot of what it generates is gibberish. Nearly every sentence has to be corrected in some way. It's still a useful starting point though.
Not sure I'd be comfortable blindly translating into 12 languages for business use - could look very unprofessional.
Ali.

I other than high school French, I have no language skills, so I can't really say. And while additional sales from folks in other countries would sure be nice, the major reason for doing this is to increase your rank with Google. If you never make a sale in Korea, but you get on the front page when someone searches your keywords in the US or UK, who cares about Korea?
Don't get me wrong, good translation and sales in Korea would be great! But I would consider them a secondary result to achieving a top 3 or 5 on Google.
And there are certainly many sites that come up now in English that are obviously not written by someone with English as their primary language. If the product and price are right, I would imagine many still buy.

Usually they just convert and save as another file to your server, slight delay initially but then no issues.
