Hello, I recently sold a psp on ebay for £137 + £10 postage and Packaging.

I then got this email off the buyer:

Hello seller,
its my pleasure transacting with u i hope the item is in a very good
condition i will be oblige if the item could be sent to my husband in west
africa Nigeria for his birtday present ,So i want you to get back to me now
with the total cost of all the expences that will be involved and i want
the item to be posted out via royalmail airmailfirst class so that my
husband can get the item before his birthday pls get back to me so that i
can proceed for the payment via paypal ilook forward to hear from you.
thanks...........
HERE IS THE DELIEVERY ADDRESS
GEORGE TOMPSON
24 SHOMORIN STREET, ADATAN
CAR WASH ABEOKUTA
OGUN STATE
23490
NIGERIA

Obviousley I am extremeley dubious as I've only ever heard bad things regarding transactions with nigerian buyers.

Is there a way I can ensure that this transaction is carried out safeley. I'm under the impression that if this person pays with stolen paypal information, and I send off the product, paypal will then be able to request the money back, and I will be short of a psp! True?

If I ask for cheque, western union, or moneygram am I safe?

Thanks guys, and the sooner I get this information the better, as I would like to get this issue sorted ASAP.

Quite right being dubious, chances of this being a legit sale are 1/10000.

Best to forget it.

If you did ask for payment by Cheque, WU etc... I doubt he would send it to you.

Just don't deal.

With PSP and iPods I set a requirement that buyers must have a paypal account and also cannot bid if their from countries i dotn ship to.

This doesnt get rid of all of them but it helps

You can actually define it within your eBay Selling Preferences.

* Do not sell to people with less than X Feedback (eBay will stop bidders with lower than X feedback bidding on your items)
* Do not sell to people who reside in countries outside my shipping zone (This will then stop people who are registered in certain countries outside of your shipping zone actually bidding on your items.)

There are a few other options you can put in but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

I would also advise combining this with your sales pitch stating you don't sell to X ect..

Don't deal even if he/she accepts PayPal.
