Hi,

I've just read the article on "Wholesale Helper" about the Wholesale Directories.

I had a quick look on sites such as simplywholesale.co.uk, wholesalepages.co.uk and ukonlinewholesalers.com but only one of the site's showed wholesale prices available.

However, considering the Apple Ipod 40GB for example sells at wholesale prices for £149 on one of the directories, I'm asking myself, is there even a point to sign up if I plan to sell them on eBay, as the same item sells between £99 - £120 on eBay.

Basically, I'd like to know if some of you have signed up at the above directories and were able to find products that actually made profit on eBay (especially in the eletronic/computer/video game/mobile phone categories)? Or a those sites "only" good if I'd sell locally, car boot sales etc..?

I know this seems to be a too generalized question, as I'd imagine some people in certain categories actually do make profit on eBay using the directories but the Ipod and the "hidden" prices on the other directories make me wonder, if I could make a profit on certain products...

btw, I was considering becoming a gold membership on wholesalepages.co.uk due to the Hong Kong wholesaler list. Again, anybody with information if it would be worth it, please post on here or PM me.

Also, any other directories you know that have a bunch of good suppliers/wholesalers, please post in here.

Thanks a lot,

Markus

cheers, great list.

So nobody would recommend to sign up on any of the sites in my previous post (AFTER downloading the PDF wholesale list)??

I assume that most of these wholesale addresses from the PDF will be the same on the directories websites were I would have to pay for??

Just so you know, ebay's pricing is usually at or below wholesale.

The price of Apple iPods on eBay is NOT a good indicator. It's my opinion that the items listed on eBay as iPods are

1. Genuine Apple refurbished older models.
2. Not Apple iPods at all.
3. Genuine Apple iPods acquired illegally from the Chinese factory.

There's no other explanation because Authorised Apple resellers only make a small margin and couldn't afford to sell them at eBay prices.

I would advise you to avoid iPods like the plague.

I guess that would apply to a lot of the categories I have listed above. I know of some markets/categories that actually do pretty good profit on ebay, but I guess those categories like Ipod's, mobile phones etc.. are just to crowded with too many sellers, constantly dropping prices etc..

Some sellers on here however, beat the eBay prices and you could actually make profit on eBay. So I guess I rather stick around the forum more, rather then signing up on those wholesale sites?
