I sold an 80Gb Ipod yesterday to a buyer using PayPal who wanted it delivered quickly. The address was unconfirmed, but as she had 400+ positive feedback I sent it. Then I checked my PayPal account and found the payment Held Pending Investigation. An email from PayPal said that unauthorised funds may have been used for the payment which was why it was held. I have emailed the buyer but there is no response, and this morning another seller contacted me saying that he had sold an iPod to the same buyer and not received payment. I contacted Royal Mail last night in an attempt to intercept the package (it was sent by Special Delivery), am waiting to hear from them.
Anyone got any ideas what to do about this?

I had the same thing happen to me with a psp, if you dont intercept it at the post office then unfortunately i think you have lost the ipod and the cash. Paypal will never give you a reason as to why the payment is being held ie: charge back, fraudulent use all they will tell you is they cannot discuss it with you due to the data protection act. And they always side with the buyer it seems. And for good measure they will tell you are not covered for the seller protection due to unconfirmed address.

I managed to get hold of the post office and they have stopped the parcel. I have now been contacted by another seller who had sent a £500 camera. It looks like a major fraud going on, maybe someones ebay account has been hacked.

Very lucky you got the item stopped.
My advice never ship high end goods to an unconfirmed address.

Rule #1 - Ship ONLY to Confirmed Paypal addresses for high fraud/high value items.

Have you let Ebay know? (presuming Ebay was the selling venue!)
