Where is the hate is option? :
I really dont like the logo, the gradient is very poorly done, forums is too small and isn't the name 'The Wholesale Forums' where is the 'The'?
The slogan - connecting through discussion just sounds stupid
I dont like the navigation at the side, once you get past where the navigation and advert ends you are left with a big white space and what looks like a badly aligned forum
'User offline' and 'user profile' (which doesnt work) looks bad and is an overuse of the word 'user' it could at least by put in the info box and everyone knows to view a user profile you click the username
The logout button on the very top of the page isn't need if you have the log out button in the navigation bar.
I am all for small fonts but the font to select the page number you want to go on is too small. There are also too many different font sizes all over the forum

Its very different, so of course you are going to get people that don't like it.
I agree about difficulty reading some bits, although my eyesite is terrible, with the posting time and date there is not enough contrast between the text and the background. I'm running in IE with a screen resolution of 1024*768.
I never log out, so don't need any button but would probably get rid of the very top logout button and maybe drop the search ditty below the header purely for asthetic purposes. Also the bit at the bottom could do with a tidy up, I've got posting rules out to the left, forum jump floating right of centre and the time left of centre.

Also I know this is something Anthony (+others) has been working on for months, from my conversations with him its clearly given him alot of stress and is something that he really has tried to get right for everyone who uses the forum. Just something to think about before anyone bashes it too much although i'm sure he would appreciate any constructive feedback you may have.

Why did you do it! It is shockingly bad. Far too bright, not a very nice colour either.

Anthony, you're a great guy and a real asset to the folks here. But I've got to tell you that if I were to come here for the first time and saw that main page I would just move on.
And writing this, I am really serious, the font is so small I can barely see what I'm typing. It's really about "size 1". something I reserve for stuuf I hope nobody reads at the bottom of the page.
I'm 67 years old and other than some "5 buck" reading glasses for the newspaper and books, don't wear glasses or have contacts. My monitor is at 800 x 600, anything else I can't read. I have been told my entire "Internet lifetime" to design everything for 800 x 600 and if people want it different, that is their choice.
More than anything I resent, yeah, that's the word, resent the way you have turned a simple topic title into a paragragh. No longer can I scan one or two lines, I now have to make a real effort to read a short paragraph.
I know you don't want to hear this, but I've never clicked an ad or paid link on you forum, or any other for that matter. Never once and I visit forums constantly. I guess that moves me to your "undesirable" list, since you can rest assured I'll not contribute to your income, only take advantage of your services.
I do visit 8 or so forums on a regular basis, and while some of the others also have income producing links and such, they keep them up top, or in one case at the bottom of the forum, they don't sacrifice the readability of the forum itself.
You could even have a seperate page / site for the resources. I certainly can't tell you what to do. I can tell you that I have a forum for a group of members with a common interest and I have set up an entirely different site for them to upload files to share and other resources, keeping the forum as a forum, with a link to the other services for those who wish to take advantage of them.
I've virtualy seen you double your membership and feel like you are a real asset to traders everywhere, but I do wish you would hit the Control Z on the forum design.

Anthony,
To avoid these kind of problems people are having, maybe next time just show every one the template or couple of screenshots of the design so every one could have their say about it, so it would save you a lot of time and trouble and you keep your members happy.
By the way I'm viewing this on 1280 by 800 pixels and i don't have that much trouble seeing the text.

The advertisement would be better at the bottom of the page in my opinion, and the font is a bit too small. Should be easily editable if required.

This template/skin whatever you call it does not fit what the requirements of a supposed professional/business site. A business site's design how matter how hip the people who frequent are should be simple (which is what the old design was) so that it does not take away from the context of the site. All these similar colored boxes, icons, etc. in the message sections makes it hard to read.

I agree im not really lovin this new design, everything seems more cramped up and tbh i though the old design was fine the way it was allthough im sure everyone will get used to it.
