The Wholesale Forums will be migrating to a new server later today.
In our efforts to provide users with the best possible browsing and usage experience, we are moving to a higher specification server which will improve overall performance and stability of the website.
We expect this migration to take place later today, beginning at 6pm this evening. The forum will be inaccessible from the old server, however you will be presented with the usual "closed" doors notice.
(The same as you get when we are closed for maintenance). Once the nameservers and DNS changes have migrated, you will be able to access the new server from the usual URL address. The reason why we have to physically close off the forum while these changes are made is because we operate dynamic content which would be lost during a server change.
Migrations do take time and can ultimately vary from location to location, provider to provider. Anywhere in the region of a few hours to perhaps 24-48 hours would be a sensible estimation. We advise members to check the forum as you normally would throughout the day to see whether your location has migrated the changes in server. It may also be worth clearing your browsers cache and cookies to ensure you aren't viewing an old version of the site and therefore extending the period of migration.
The reason we have decided to do this move now, apart from the need to do it, is to try and avoid wide scale inconvenience as we believe the next day or so should be a fairly quiet period while seasonal new year celebrations are playing out.
We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you, but hope you appreciate the service should be better on the other side.
(There may be some teething issues while we tune various aspects of the new server so please be patient if that is the case). Everything that was here before the move will still be here after the move, you won't be losing any of your PMs/Posts/Threads etc.
Happy New Year to you all, thanks for reading!
